Christ Is Born : Religious Poetry

Footsteps in the sand  had carefully  trod.

They had been guided by the hand of God .

The desert was dark and cold in the night .

Then into the darkness there came a  light

A star up above shone to show the way .

Shepherds saw angels and began to pray   .

The angels said trust there's nothing to fear .

Follow the star that God has sent you here  .

So they left their sheep and followed the star .

Mile after mile they had travelled so far

Then they came to a place in Bethlehem .

Where they fell to their knees with three wise men .

Before a child they called the king of Kings .

And so now the Christmas the story begins  .

Angels in a light they hovered above .

Jesus looked at the world with so much love .

Mary and Joseph stood there in the light .

And what they saw was a  glorious sight   .

Gifts had been brought and given to their child .

As they bowed before him Jesus just smiled .

Angels and shepherds they danced in the light .

All of heaven was rejoicing that night .

Many voices as one began to sing

Praise to the child and glory to the king .
