Butterfly In Twilight : Animal Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

The butterfly landed on a bud and a flower began to bloom .

The winter's chill is almost over now and springtime is coming soon .

Jack Frost has taken his coat off now and said his goodbye to the wind .

The butterfly has flown through the door – its welcome here please come in .

Outside its getting dark as pale moonbeams go streaking across the sky .

Stay with me until the new dawn comes and rest my gentle butterfly .

Wrapped up in a twilight curtain that has been kissed by heaven so near .

The dark  night is almost over now and the morning will soon be here . .

I saw a sunrise in the garden and off there the butterfly flew  .

The garden roses look so beautiful and the sun is shinning too .

As the days grow long I wonder what will of my butterfly become ,

Will it be wrapped up in a safe twilight of another setting sun .
