Beyond The Garden At Easter : Childrens Poetry

The rabbit hid the eggs round garden each Easter  .
and it was a kids job to find where they were .

No clues or maps were provided ,

So we looked somewhere beyond the pond, around the fairy tree there .
where the birds sang little songs and the bees buzzed .

You kept on looking and wishing for a change of luck .

Instead you'd find lost teddy bears and lots of other things like that rubber duck and that tipper truck .
One by one you discovered those baby toys that

always heard you and comforted you when you cried .

As you wandered in the garden it gave up a glittering treasure   

That it could no longer hide .
Chocolate Easter eggs uncovered in little pockets of sunlight  
that dazzled you in the eye .

One by one you collected and counted them and gave thanks to the Easter bunny who said goodbye .
