Between The Two Is Where We Meet : Inspirational Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

Across the border between East and West there is a pact.
And the border conflict has a found a way of turning back.
Between Berlin and freedom a wall of confusion stood.
Even though it is not correct the solution is good.
Between Israel and Palestine walls are erected,
To separate two tribes that still remain uncorrected.
Between bricks in a wall there are holes punched by mortar shells.
The wall is part of a building where a family dwells.
Between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland,
The peace process saw people began to reach out a hand.
The conflict of a misunderstanding had been set right.
The road to diplomacy and compromise was in sight.
Between the blacks and the whites bad blood ran through veins like flames,
As passion burnt in a fever pitched hatred on the street.
The system divided both sides so that they could not meet,
But somehow the walls came down as leaders emerged to say,
Between the two is where we meet and that way is ok.
Even though poles apart we can find a magnetic way,
I push you pull and together it will work that- a- way.
When all the walls with holes are filled we can rebuild the hope,
Decision making have the opposition on the rope.
Doors are opening up as agendas are coming through.
Peaceful solutions can be found somewhere between the two.
