An Image Of Life At Leura : Modern Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

There is a modern look about some places that I really hate .

Cars and traffic jams in busy streets , shops that stay open too late .

But in the Autumn Leura looks like a place that's been lost in time ,

bare trees on bleak streets behind blue Mountains where liquid ambers climb .

Rusty leaves lying like dust under trees never touched by the sun  .

Thick mist kissed the streets of Leura where shadowy silhouettes run .

Crawling around haunted corners eerie reflections come alive .

An autumn portrait hangs itself to the subconscious where I dive  .

Rescued my mind from a storm of images where some things are tossed ,

Like a lifetime in a empty hall or an autumn that's been lost .

Such private perceptions are never seen or spoken of because ,

The falling leaves that touched the ground have now left a world that once was .
