A Teenager At School : New Wave Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

In now in my teenage years and off to school I'm sent .

Some of us are pretty straight while others slightly bent

If you've got a problem there's no one can work it out .

If you want to get noticed you've got to scream and shout .

We talk about music and who and what is ok .

In the classroom there is always something smart to say

Its all hip hop on with the show and learn as you go ,

Do your best but pass the test , that's all there is to know .

But pressure plus puberty equals everyone

What about fun
Its all for one and we're on the run  .

Around the bend we go but we're running on the spot

School sports have to be played wether we like them or not

Then there's the sinking hardship crew from the neighbourhood

out of control because they're always misunderstood  .

Its mucky on the school ground but we have to plough on

through sticky situations , spun out and then we're gone .

At school we let our imaginations stray until .

There's no places left to hide and no more time to kill  .
