A Day At The Races : Sports Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

I've reserved our places for a day at the races                                                    we'll be there soon by and by  .

My mind is set to where bets are met ,
and where the jockeys set their sails in the sky  .

Once more I will go to the place that I know                                           where  the green grassy plains welcome me .

A wonderful sight welcomes all those who might take a punt                   with the SP Bookie .

It's there can be heard the punters spoken word ,
like a rapturous song in the ring .

In a star clustered show sure the racecourse's aglow                                      in an awesome colourful thing .
