A Christmas Interrogation : Childrens Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

Last year when you called Santa I noted down a number of things
Now I want your truthful answers. OK ?
The note I wrote you I found in Daddy's pocket .
I never found any marks of a reindeer or a sleigh .
So Ho-Ho-Ho Father Christmas ,
I know who you are?
I saw the cushions you used to make you look fatty .
That Santa suit doesn't fool me .
You have the same after shave .
The same missing tooth.
The same eyes as Daddy.
Don't try to kid me Santa because Mr. Clause I know for a fact,
you can't get up and down the chimney.
Another thing is that beer I leave you each year
is Daddy's favourite too
So that says it all for me .
The thing is the ring you wear is just like Dads,
and those glasses are also the same.
So tell me if you're game.
Well Son , Santa's the name.
Making kids happy is my game
and Christmas without me just wouldn't be the same.
Don't be blinded and bluffed by what you think you know .
People say Santa how do you know who's been good and bad .

I tell them look into your hearts and believe me .
If you don't believe in Santa then go and ask your Dad
