What is wrong with this world!
I’ve been sitting here thinking about the future that so many doubt
The wars that rage on foreign soil and our own lands constant turmoil
Acid rain that’s falling down killing crops without a sound
Mothers killing their own kin and hedonists engaged in sin
The ozone layer fading fast melting icecaps that just won’t last
The AIDS pandemic gaining ground and yet no cure for it is found
Murders, rape and petty theft, taking all the hope that’s left
Prejudice taught under academic guise, clouding all our children’s eyes
The cost of living going up as all our money goes to the corrupt
Drug addiction at an all time high, with pushers convincing our kids try
Homeless living on the street without a single thing to eat
Government taps on every phone and politics carved in brittle stone
Terrorists here in our own back yard and immigrants with no green card
People being beaten down for little more than how they sound
Lifestyles under scrutiny because of fanatical religious apathy
And all the while we look away ignoring what we see each day
What is Wrong with this world!
Nuclear weapons being made and those who sell them getting paid
Pedophiles that lurk the net, going after any child which they can get
Soldiers dying every day to keep down the cost of fuel we pay
Cities taken out by flood while the government cleans its hands of blood
Racists passing outdated laws that subjugate without a cause
Morality that’s fading fast because the media wont let it last
Amorally dispositional miscreants that revel in their own decadence
Serial killers shooting down any soul that could be found
Atrocities committed with the utmost sin because of the color of someone’s skin
Entire countries laid to waste so their leaders can make some bank in haste
The growing separation of social classes that gets force fed to the worlds masses
The downhill slalom of capitol gain that inflicts great hardships and lasting pain
The open abandonment of compassion that seems to be so much in fashion
Our natural resources being exhausted while everywhere life gets accosted
And all the while we look away ignoring what we see each day
What is wrong with this world!
Slavery that’s still alive today, despite what all the textbooks say
People bought and sold like cattle in a never ending human battle
Education that’s way under par and alcoholics in every bar
Headlines in the world’s news that only shows their jaded views
Cloning sheep and human ears on mice, were playing god and that’s not nice
Pharmaceutical companies making medications that only cause further complications
Brothers killing their own brothers, fathers killing their son’s mothers
Children going with guns to school because they think it will make them cool
Religious leaders falling in disgrace because they touched a child in worships place
Cults that make a pledge to die because a comet appears in the earthly sky
Information that will never flow because our government thinks we shouldn’t know
Biological weapons and chemical killers being bought and sold by their distillers
Pollution filling our lungs each day as we support the facilities that make the air that way
It seems like there is so much distress that fills this world with pettiness
And nobody seems to give a dam, because we only care about our own personal plan
And all the while we look away ignoring what we see each day
What is wrong with this world!
