If tomorrow were not to come
And my life was to be judged by its history
Its culminations and its sum
Through happiness and misery
I would have no regrets or jaded thought
About what has made me who I am
In life’s experiences I was caught
On solid ground I’ll make my stand
I have seen the wonders of the world
Played with dolphins in the sea
Into battle my life was surely hurled
And seen loved ones pass on to eternity
In my hands I’ve held the earth
Of a hundred places I have been
I’ve seen the Miracle of a baby’s birth
And have felt the lust that comes from sin
On bended knee, I have wept aloud
In anger I have fought my fellow man
Had chances to make my loved ones proud
And from tropical sun my skin did tan
I have heard angelic voices sing to the wind
I have seen the sunset slowly on oceans blue
Watched an eagles flight and to a garden tend
But above all else I was loved by you
These times we live are not to be scorned
Neither fretted nor held within contempt
No pretenses in what we were warned
A joining that seemed imminent
O’ Joyous rapture O’ life abound
What sorrows chased away by you
Within your arms I have surely found
My inner self, my emotions true
On so many things my mind does dwell
What the future brings we do not know
Yet on time can surely tell
If our feelings for each other grow
If tomorrow were not to come
And I must hold but one memory to get me through
My choice would be an easy one
Forever would I think of you
