I am the physical embodiment of a grand idea born from great men who had the foresight to envision a country in which their children would be safe. I am the entity by which that safety is secured and maintained, allowing the children of your children to grow under the very same protection I provide. I am the striking hand of justice, delivered swiftly and effectively when freedom is encroached upon, no matter where injustice is found. I am the foundation for the pillars of liberty, and your right to pursue happiness in your life, no matter what happiness means to you.
I am the light of freedom shining brightly in the night
I am the call of honor who steps righteous to the fight
I am the true protector of all those whom you hold dear
I am the one who battles all the things that bring you fear
I am the son or daughter of your neighbor back at home
I am the seeker of the truth no matter where I roam
I am the one who holds the line when others run away
I am the one who secures peace each and every day
I am the face of compassion in a sea of masked hordes whose only desire is to bring terror and fear into the lives of those who seek out law, order and democracy. I am my brother's protector, ever vigilant against the forces that conspire to harm or maim all things just and proper. I am a beacon of hope shining defiantly in the face of oppression and injustice, casting away shadows of fear and doubt. I am the one who pays the ultimate price so that you can live under the umbrella of protection provided by me and my comrades. I am an American Soldier, in life, action, purpose and even death I am the embodiment of honor and freedom for all those who seek out a better life, and I will not fail in my duties, for I am not alone.
On this day please keep in your heart's and in your minds all those who have paid the ultimate price for freedom and all those who must continue the fight abroad to ensure that the tyrannical forces that seek to destroy those very freedoms which they are fighting for do not prevail.
