Her secret, her surreptitious little detail.
She is not like you, she is far from normal
and not quite exceptional.
Beyond the smile and her heart felt eyes
that seem to shine; is a girl with an unpleasant
past and expectations that will never last.
Her goal in life is to just get by, with what
diminutive ability she has to survive.
Where home is no longer home to her anymore,
and life is but a fight.
In this tunnel of obscurity, she walks in anticipation
to come across the light. Little does she know
where life will lead her. As light begins
to fail. Darkness begins its reign.
This pain, this sorrow, all another tomorrow
in her routine of existence. What holds her
back? Her diffidence.
