Traffic Jam : Loud Poetry

written by Poet : Shelly Wiseberg

Many directions

roads and paths

straight ahead

impulsive detour

life's traffic in a jam

honking horns

polluted air

congested freeway

music blaring

people swearing

from smoked filled windows.

Apply your mascara

in your front view mirror

take out your cell phone

without any speaker.

Getting distracted

without any focus

pick your  nose

while you are waiting

for the lights to change.

Hurry up and get there quick

or something may change

on your highway to nowhere.

All those strangers

sharing the same highway

with raised middle fingers

if you get in their way.

Scurrying around like rats

to get ahead in position

an abstract maze

of saving time.

Many directions

roads and paths

straight ahead

or don't look back

an impatient detour

on a dead end track.
