Longtime Best Friend
Our friendship stood the test of time,
I wish to thank you with a poetic rhyme.
Growing up we did chug lots of beer,
when it came to trouble, that we stayed clear.
There was a time when we weren't so close,
those times I will always regret the most.
A special friend you have always been to me,
one even a blind man is able to see.
My long time friend you taught me a lot,
in my life you always have a special spot.
Never once were you jealous or greedy,
times you got mad, but you were never needy.
You set the standards for friends to come,
having all the qualities I find to be number one.
Friends like you are a rare kind,
without you I would be left far behind.
It is because of you, I have become a better man.
If ever you need me, I will do everything I can.
The deepest thank you my life long best friend,
I know without a doubt you are there through thick and thin.
