Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving Day
As we set at our table
giving thanks to our God above
remember why we are able
to be here with those we love.
Our men and women went to war
on that far and distant shore
they knew that blood would flow
and really didn't want to go.
But they clearly saw the need
it was a calling they had to heed
as they left our shores behind
they prayed for peace for all mankind.
Let us give thanks to one and all
who answered the battle call
and send our prayers of love
soaring overseas on the wings of a dove.
