For her the battle is endless. She reads of solders dieing each day. She reads of chidren sinless. Dead and wounded killed while running away.
My hands have been washed a hundred times. Nothing seems to remove the stain. Of the innocent blood, I find. In my hands I see so plain.
We did not target the innocent, they were put in our way. We were told to go, we went. We didn't know by what rules they played.
I long to see my woman but somehow I have changed. Scars that time cannot heal, cannot rearrange.Will she know me? Would she understand? I am a solder, not just a man.
