Hobo Christmas : Holiday Poetry

written by Poet : cavirzanee

Back in the alley way in the back. Behind the boxes you'll find some steps. Down to the underground Dark and black. A blanket a corner where I slept.

Holes in my overcoat I try to make the train. The night air is cold and it feels like rain. Notice lots of Chrismas lights  Shining in the distance. Beacons in the night. Wearing down my resistance.

Sunday evening traveling for home. Dreaming bout days gone by. Christmas and I feel alone. This longing for family and pecan pie.

Wonder will they recognize me. Been ten years or more. I see up ahead the train is slowing down. Coming close to my home town.

I look at myself , my world on my back. Home with no gifts to give. Guess I'll put lonlyness on the shelf. Leave with what I lack. Home Guess will wait. a nother town not far ahead. Then another state.

Guess hobos got nobody nobody except themselves. Never expected to sink so low. Caught up in some vodo spell. Gonna be a hobo Christmas. The night to kiss my cheek with a cold whispering wind. A hobo Christmas Alone until the end.
