God Kissed Mary : Ballad Poetry

written by Poet : cavirzanee

I cast out my net today. Hoping to catch my wages. The ocean tales I could tell. If written would be pages. Fighting the elements. The pounding waves thrashing. The sound of thunder.  Lightning flashing.

Our boat's name was God kissed Mary. Lord knows she could hold her own. Her haul we would fill. Sometimes fishing alone. She sailed us through many storm. Waves beating, wind howling as it blows. Safely getting us home, steady as she goes.

When God kissed Mary, He blessed her all the same. Who else could be her Captin? Tell me his name. God Kissed Mary sailed for many years. She saw many happy days. She saw many days of tears. Her sides are weathered. Beat with time and age. Her sails are torn from many storms rage.

But still upon her back I make my living. Catching her haul full of fish. She never complains bout the load. Never makes a wish. She cuts through the waves. No matter how tall. When they pound her sides, she's like a stone wall. So keep her back against the wind. Steady as she goes. We'll soon be home. Quick as the wind blows.
