I have traveled so many miles. My feet they grow weary with each step I take. The sun will soon be going down.Must find a place to rest. The lake is quiet, There is not a sound. Maybe under the bridge. With my napsack in hand I find my place alone with the others the world forsakes. On the distant ridge the sun makes it's final stand.Night has come. I go build a fire to warm my hands. And as before I realize. I'm happy I'm healthy, I'm alive. I say a prayer hoping to be heard. Knowing I'm not worthy. Yet he cares for the birds. And in my silence I learn to hear. The wispers of the wind, God put in my ear. A smile breaks the lines of dispair. As with gentle voice. I hear someone say they care. I don't want your money, for what would I need of it. I don't want your pity, I have enough of my own. I only seek a simple thing. A reason. A hope, someone to love. I wish I could take my words open them in light. but inside the darkness is like that of night. So very quiet. so very alone. Afraid of what can't be seen. Yet still afraid of the light.
