One hour of your life
Would you spend one hour
Or a day
Of your life to be free?
Free of hatred, jealousy
To know your soul is in the right place
Would you spend one day thinking, praying
A month, or a year
How many one hour a days prayers
Do you think it takes to be in good graces
Is it a minute of prayer a day
Or is it an hour, or all day?
Is it months or prayer, or does it take a year
To have a prayer answered
If you knew it was one hour a day alone
Would you spend it in contemplation
Not speaking to others, turn off the TV
Can you stay off the telephone for one day?
Or are you wired to machines everyday all day?
Not giving thought to something beyond you
Do you pray for others
Is it always you?
You pray for
Or do you pray at all
Then expect your prayers to be answered
When you are in need
Did you know you don’t need to pray
If you learn to spend one hour a day
Just thinking, contemplating
Then that one hour turns
To a moment, to moment
an existence with God in your mind
And you don’t have to read the bible anymore
Once you get it, you have an existence
Of every hour in the spirit of God
Then each prayer gets answered
You can’t expect it in an hour
Or sometimes a day, or a month
Or a year
Because some prayers are unanswered for a reason
And the reason is you never spent that hour
Not one day
