Tear foliage
Sadly pulling the last rose buds
Frozen tears from frost
Brown tight petals
Topped with musky dirt
Grown in my prairie meadows
Roses finely pruned, always re- tuned
A face of harsh cold reality
Tear flakes of geometric, diamonds
Snow, howling dark clouds
On somewhere, no where horizons
Crying in skies
Winds cutting to the souls
Of the never blooming roses
Hopes in reddish pink tops
On dead petals
Mother nature, praying
Giving coverage to roots, always re- planted
Earnestly fertilizing a regeneration
For nightingales
Roses stretching high in the skies
Evening blue
Re- birth, earth anew
Laying my head to the ground
Pure humility
For the survival -of pricks of rose thorns
Hoping to arrive, sweet mercy
For all
Roses in tearful foliage
Never giving up
On my roses.
