Thunder of combines- digging up dirt
The smell of black earth-
Dark cloudy skies, making it fifty
degrees outside
It’s May the twenty third, 2008
We have no sun shine-
again- all spring little- sun-
Woke up late,
to make coffee to wake
To see striations in the skies
strange cumulus
Moving polluting
with bacteria - rot
In round patterns
across the horizons
Showing- in every
direction-around the world
Our newspaper showing dark clouds over Washington
a rice shortage-
Its thundering outside and
around the world
An earthquake in China
Alaska rocking
the san Madrid fault vibrating upheaval
splitting the earth tilt
Typhoons, Tsunamis
too many disasters are occurring
Once shinny seas
now blooming
with red plums,
from nitrogen spillage-
people pollution
Killing, filling fish-
with mercury, arsenic
Causing mental retardation,
in ocean life and humans
Afraid to check the news,
to find too- much blues-
Hundreds of thousands dead- hurt in pain-
Millions and millions homeless
Americans- can’t pay their mortgages
Check my email to find,
twenty one downloads of nothing
Strange days of worries-
of things people in the cites don’t see,
they are too busy DOING nothing.
Rabbits outside, not doing mating dances
Birds fight over bird feeder seed,
competing to eat it
My garden is in ruins
The tractors thundering all night
Praying to till enough soil to plant fast
Food to feed the earth
Before it rains again too many drops
Of acid rain on every city-
Why am I the only one
Who can hear the earth moving?
Tilting, shifting in ringing sound
From sky and ground
And why am I the only one
who cares enough to notice?
We have NO MAY
9:40 am
The blue rose
