Dles dominica : Classical Poetry

Dles dominica

Eli Eli sabvhyhsni

“the day of our Lord”

He gives an order

His word flashes to earth

To spread snow like a blanket

To strew hoar frost like ashes

Revealing his word to his Jacobites

His statues and rulings to Israel

He never does this for other nations

He never reveals his rulings to them

Let all praise the name of Yahweh

At whose command they were created

He has fixed them in their place for ever

By a VELTERABLE statue

To exact vengeance on the pagans

To inflict punishment on the heathen

To shackle their Kings in chains

And their nobles with fetters

To execute the preordained sentence

Thus gloriously are the faithful rewarded

Let everything that have breath praise Yahweh

Alleluia

From the everlasting I was set

From the beginning, before the earth came into being

When he fixed the heavens firm, I was there

Delighted to be with the sons of man

Wisdom more precious than pearls

And nothing else is worthy of desire

Chorus

He has kissed me with the kisses of his mouth

His love more delightfully narcotic than the vine

Delicate was my fragrance to my beloved

And he found my perfume a pleasurable aroma

His fire, oil poured out and cleansed

All the wickedness of woman

And he seeing me beyond a mere fleshly creature

Has risen me to be his handmaiden, his glorified Angel

Overlooking all the earthly bondages, miraculously found me clean

He has arisen the heavens and anointed my scarf

With the heavens and the power of the sun, moon and stars

He has given me his sons & daughters, made my children

His footsteps

Refrain of the bridegroom

Let us run beloved, our forever

My soul longs to see your presence in my Kingdom

Yearning for the day you arrive.

Sorrowful has been your burden

A world chained, beaten you in bondage

If you do not know this, O loveliest of woman

Follow the tracks of my flock

Gauge them and grace them

I will stay close to their tents

Take my children close to my Shepard’s tents
