World wide Net Poetry Award
The blue rose cup.
He poured everything he had.
Building a website, a format for poetry.
For no reason but his love of poets, poetry.
Grooming poets-
Refusing to take a dime from them.
Pouring and pouring everything he had.
With never a word of complaint, or whine.
Hours, days, months, years went by.
Pouring his heart, his soul into a vocal medium
For poets.
Helping others.
Reaching to others.
Grooming poets
Giving them a voice, a free choice.
Few recognized it, fewer noticed.
They just expected, everything free.
And he gave freely.
Some months barely able to keep
The virus’s away.
Recognizing each poets, unique style.
Admiring it, never in jealousy or envy.
He loved beautiful poetry.
It made him happy, when it was happy.
He felt joy when it was joyful.
He cried in pain, when those in pain.
Wrote to him, and often he was the only one
Who heard them.
But they never realized.
Or recognized what he did for them.
Blue light on screen.
He was/is the poets friend.
Some
days the only friend on earth they had.
Some months he couldn’t afford his pixels.
They would shut him off, and he give more
Fighting to keep it up, but he did.
He cried in pain, felt the joy.
He wouldn’t take money, when I offered
Not because he was proud,
and not because he didn’t need it.
But because this was his gift to give,
And he fought every day to believe
There was hope.
He would ask his poets to write hope.
Too often they denied him.
A few words, crumbs of hope
For the world.
He wasn’t some big hero,
Just a man who loved the poets.
And when my poetry, became hard to swallow
He, took my hand, and let me breath.
And when I screamed integrity.
He heard me, but it was a hard pill to swallow.
But he believed in me, he groomed me.
And he stayed with me, and stood with me.
All of you, always holding your hand.
You never noticed him, you never gave him thanks.
But Merry Christmas
