My Santa Man Surprise The first little Santa man I ever did sculpt Was fat and jolly Had a smile some holly Wore a red coat Jingling bells A big bag, trimmed with real fur Filled with miniature toys, presents For good girls, boys A decoration for cheer I made him by hand One every year, for many years Had to sculpt, sew and sand, sand He didn’t come with a sleigh Had in his hand one finger pointed up To heaven, the real reason for the season To remind you children Santa is fun, but he is made up! Sold him for two hundred fifty dollars In the nineteen eighties, it was a bunch of money Bought toys for my kids To give credit the little Man I worked six weeks to make up! I wrote this poem to remind you all that while Christmas fables are fun they do bring disappointment when your children find out you lied to them. After I made this ho- ho- ho I decided Santa wasn’t getting credit for all my hard work, you know! I just went along with it, I didn’t carry on about it all. I sat out one nice present, from him. The rest of them I took credit for after my first little Santa man toy doll. I did put out milk and cookies. And played fun songs but my children never cried a tear, when they found out Santa was a fairy made up, not real! P.S. That Santa is now valued at thousands of dollars in the collectable market and no one remembers the toys! Scribe by the blue rose
