At Waters Brink : Inspirational Poetry

written by Poet : asimpleman

At Waters Brink

Asoft green pillow layed for my head,

 beside a bounding stream,

A quilted pattern of leaves for bed,

 invites me into dream.

Hushed sounds that sing me into sleep,

 as I close my eyes,

rush through the nearby willow tree,

 such sight of endless sighs.

Time and care soon slowly fade,

 away at waters brink,

desolving like leaves as they wade,

 untill they softly sink.

The water babbles it's refrain,

 as I lay in wait,

To the clouds while they complain,

of their reprobate.

To soon the sky does weep away,

and rain begin to fall,

So I will leave this gentle day,

placed in memory to recall.
