My dog,
I call him my dog, but fact is he was everyones dog,
He kept everyone protected,
I never wanted a pet, he found me, he found us,
He looked as if he had mange, so I poisoned him,
He didnt die so he was given a bigger bowl of poison, some people would not understand but in the country when your protecting your kids you trust no stray animal,
He lived, he stayed around and called this place home and I his master,
I couldnt kill him again so I fed him, he went from a bag of bones to a healthy dog,
He protected my home keeping I and all who live in the home safe,
He was named sparky, but I call him Sir Sparkolot,
Never hurt another, he let the cats eat before he did,
He went from being fearful of being pet on the head to encouraging it,
Tonight I have tears in my eyes, My dog Sir Sparkolot lies on his deathbed,
Im crying over a dog I didnt want , a dog I tried to kill,
He lays there tounge out motionless, breathing and heart beating but no movement,
Today I found him by window, laying down with ants crawling over his eyes and in his mouth,
I got a pale of water and washed his mouth out and his eyes removing all the ants,
I fed him water by puttting it down his throat, he swallowed but hardly moved,
He lays peaceful dying, his heart beats faster when I pet him and talk to him,
I sit hear wondering how I could get so close to this dog, he stank, he scratched
himself to the point it irritated me, everyday when I got home he would pop up from the neighbors
house and come running to me, I would sometimes play chicken with him, Id rev the engine in by big ass dodge truck
while the dog stood his ground, then I would gun it and the dog would run,
He lies on his deathbed, I am useless, the only thing I can do is pet him,
I wait till his dismise, I wait and I feel... very alone...I am Lost....
The dog I never wanted , but the dog I grew to love...
If you all have pets at home, pet them for tomorrow they maybe gone and then you will truly find out how much they mean to you...
