Pistons in motion : New Wave Poetry

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

The motor between my legs is vibrating and screaming,

Pistons in motion with the power releasing,

Heat created a thrill thats worth the ride so stop dreaming,

With the throttle and control I fly into the sky,

Feel as if Im soaring as I lift off from the first jump,

I got air, Im so high as I Jump this first hump,

Your eyes following for fear that I might fall,

Without worry I land the beast and race on,

moving so fast I rip up the ground,

Tires spinning, dirt flying, engine revving, I focus intensily on its sound,

When it purrs and everything is working smoothly its incredible to ride,

Now Im where I like to be in my space, with the trails open wide,

I race into the paths darkened by the trees and the forest as I zip inside,

Peaceful until I enter, the animals take notice and run and hide,

I am the beast entering their land, they fear me as they scurry off, I am in command,

I zig zag through trees and duck under low hanging limbs, I race the race of excitemnet wearing nothing but a grin,

The bike starts to sputter and spit then the power diminishes quick, out of fuel I coast to a stop, get off of my baby that no longer tics,

Its quiet in the forest, not a sound to be heard, I lean my bike against the tree, sit down on the ground and listen for the birds,

Its nice, time by myself to reflect on the day, nature putting on a show as the animals come back out to play,

I think Ill rest so I close my eyes and I dream, I dream of the girl who gives me pleasures like my bike, I dream about riding that wild beautiful queen,
