A rose in some eyes means love and so much more,
To her its just a reminder that love can bite you with its thorn,
Past relationships, the bruising from the past,
flowers with no meaning, relationships that dont last,
A carnation, a safer choice and easier to hold near,
Distance kept, emotions always on the edge of fear,
Fear for loss, fear for a damaged heart to be broken,
Fear that her love will find another, waiting for those words to be spoken,
Trust, never trusting, always searching for doomsday and waiting for the end,
Please not a rose, not a rose,
any flower but a rose, anyone at all to hold lovingly under her nose....
