Her first cry : Family Poetry

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

Carried in the womb,
cradled in her belly,
warmth and loving feeling,
protected and still growing,
Discovering fingers for the first time,
finding her little feet,
The space is getting smaller,
Her walls almost like jello,
She pushes in every direction,
the walls they push back,
She almost sees her reflection,
Her ears they hear a voice,
a muzzled sound not to clear,
loving chatter from the outside,
Convulsions pushing her down,
Head first it gets to tight,
She fights to stay inside,
Then her head pops out into light,
Blurry objects in her vision,
Tall creatures in white gowns,
Lots of noise and confusion,
The doctor smacks her bottom quick to breathe,
She screams, Shes alive, and she looks straight out at me!
