Hands held out : Inspirational Poetry

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

She stood at the doorway with a beggars smile,

Her body thin and skeleton features surfaced,

Hands Held out in humiliation her head faced down,

Once prominent in the community,

Now eyes view only the ground,

Loss of life and everyone she knew,

Street rat to some,

Hand outs are few,

Herself she gives little,

to others she serves,

Dirty faced children under bridges,

The well off never observe,

They wait for their giver who gets from

those who see her almost invisible,

For a moment of kindness the children get nourished,

Hurried little legs run her down,

Thank you spoken often,

Where little hands held out are found,
