Whisper and Pray : Halloween Poetry

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

We all took evil for granted, turned Holloween night into something fun,

But this year you better whisper, for Death has finally come,

God has given up on us and has turned the other cheek, now the hungry are free to roam and eat those who appear weak,

Pray all you want, Scream as loud as you can, for terror fills the shadowed streets and flesh is in demand,

Shhh, I hold my hand across my daughters mouth to keep her from screaming, Devils pull the flesh off terrified people aided by blood thirsty demons,

We hide and wait for the sun to break this evil night, but the ash from Hell keeps out the glorious morning light,

With the absence of day Hell fills the dark with agonizing screams, moaning from some, bleeding from most, wishing this was just a dream,

We run as fast as we can but not fast enough as we are torn by claws that rip, I turn to fight with faith in my heart as strong as a battleship,

One by one I sent demons back down to Hell and the Angels started to see, that a man will sacrifice his own soul to protect his family,

In the end I died but my Daughter stood to live another day, but this time the Angels surround and protect her as they heard my last words I prayed....
