Trying to Survive : Adult Poetry

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

A morning discovery,

Concerns from a bump,

Within her breasts he felt an unsuspecting lump,

Her once soft skin, her allure and attraction,

Her mind races circles as this is more then a distraction,

From Mammograms to ultrasounds the test all say the same,

This bump is not a cyst, the cancer is her pain,

From past burning and sensations she their message she had  refused,

Her breasts were talking to her but she denied their every move,

Now there's no denial as the doctor gives the news, I'm sorry to tell you its too late to remove your beautiful boobs,

She stood there with tears just rolling down her cheeks, "How much time do I have", He replied "just only weeks".

If you had had insurance, or if you were only rich, Im sure you would have taken care of them, "US health-care is just a Bitch".

Then he turned away because he knew that she was poor, "But Doc what do I do"?,

He looked back at her , then paused, "You exit out that door".

He pointed to the exit as he knew she could not afford her services. I'm sorry but I cant help you, nobody can or rather nobody will without insurance.
