Thanks Dad : Fathers Day Poem

I grew up tasting life,

You worked hard most of your life,

I spent many days with friends at the shore,

Your work load increased more and more,

My youth filled with unending fun,

You provided so there was work to be done,

When I was hungry you filled my plate,

When I was in need you didnt hesitate,

When I was in trouble you stood by my side,

I was ungrateful and often selfish as your nerves were tried,

You stuck with me through thick and thin,

Never taught me to fail only to win,

Now I look back and I finally see,

You worked hard all your life just for me,

In my shame I realize I was no shining sun,

I never thanked you for making my life fun,

For anyone else you would have left behind,

But instead you stood bye me and kept me in line,

Thanks Dad for all that you give,

Just so I had a chance to live.
