My mind was a typical teenage type,
69 camaro, loud music, big wheels and all that hype,
Played sports as did much of the youth,
Lied to my parents and covered up the truth,
Late night drinking with the rest of my friends,
No plans for the future as my youth seemed never to end,
Then I met the girl of my dreams as our eyes met,
Atleast that was my mindset that I will never forget,
In love with a girl who was just 17,
one that was different then any other I dated if ya know what I mean,
She had her head on straight and my heart beat fast,
I can remember our first kiss in my memories it will last,
I sacrificed my drinking friends to be by her side,
It was well worth it as she held my arm and I walked with pride,
For I had everything I ever wished for,
True love to fill my heart for someone I'll always adore.

In our lives we will have had that first love who really taught us what real love was. Most of us would have realized how wonderful it was after we had screwed up the relationship. Only to look back and wonder why we were so immature.
But love was not lost instead it was a stepping stone to grow from. The first love is more like finally getting a class on what not to do or not to say to someone you really cared for.
Regrets are something you can feel only if you refuse to see what you really were lucky to have. Me I think I have been blessed. Blessed by the right decisions and the wrong ones, but mostly blessed by the travels I have made and the joourney that was shared with the ones that I love.
For in the end it is'nt about you anymore, it's about the ones you love....Now thats Heart!
