With the Death of a loved one comes the tears of the combined,
Family gathering not for holidays but still together for a brief time,
Where there is death there is life,stories, and smiles to share,
Dinner with those who are like strangers but treated so close,
A shame this brought us together instead of a wedding to share the toast,
or a Birth of a new baby that brings in lifes cheer,
But still grateful for the time we all have as we pray for another year,
Outbursts of tears, Tears of joy and those from facing the unknown,
The house will be quiet now, not much of a home,
The kids off to college and all so far away,
Its a wonder I remain in once cherrished peace,
Now emptiness is what I face along with quiet nights and days,
So from now till eternity ill shed my tears for you,
Missing what made me whole,
And remembering a Love so True....
