No Stuffing Please : Thanksgiving Poetry

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

Thanksgiving is the time of year we all gather for love and a good laugh,

Friends and family encircle the table and soon the hunger turns to wrath,

Compulsive knife slicing , cutting and poking, the Turkey has had enough,

The hungry feast to say the least, but I ask you "Where is the Love"?

"To be a Turkey or Not to be", my answers firm and quick,

A strong No, no gravy to go, you'll get not a single lick,

So this year don't fake your prayers and give the Turkey a tribute as well,

Dont stuff this bird, dont jab without thought, just treat him really swell...

We all have a place in the food chain and often we forget about those creatures who are not exactly in a good position. They are food to us and nothing more. Thats the way it is so be grateful this year and the years to come that you are not the turkey.
