Making Strings Sing : Amazing Kids

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

His small hands grabbed the guitar and pulled a string or two,

His father cautioned him to be careful but his son pursued,

Ears opened up to the new wonderful sounds,

Vibrating noise as his hands slapped notes he had found,

Into a beat and a rhythm that flowed,

His father turned to look with an amazement glow,

He watched his child quickly learn and evolve,

A young Prodigy searching for sounds to solve,

From noise to notes and then to chords,

Within hours his talents soared,

At age 5 he turned sound into tears,

as his mom and dad listened , vanished were their fears,

For their son was Autistic and said to be retarded,

But with 2 loving parents his talents had just started,

The pull to music was young Evans Drive,

He played everyday with music refreshing and alive,

Complicated ballads and Harmonic Riffs,

Hours on end hearts he would lift,

Neighbors came and then the local press,

A child Prodigy Revealed,

A child of God had been blessed.

Children who are different from us are often looked at as freaks, retarded, or just not fitting into are own world. Within everyone are gifts, doors of talent that can be unlocked, but the majority of us often dont see them. We follow the flock blindly while those who follow their own paths often find the key to unlock talents unimaginable.

"Be a freak, unlock your doors, challenge your kids, and open your eyes and ears"! The gifts are there waiting for you so don't let them go undiscovered.
