Friendship is something that is hard to earn,
Often we prevent friendship by not speaking up,
In a world that has grown violent and uncertain we remain skeptical,
Trust often the hardest to earn as we shield ourselves from the unknown by locking our own personal space so strangers stay out.
The sad part is we yearn for strong friendships from people we don't know, we call out on the internet inviting strangers into our cyberspace, we sit home alone on nights when we wish we were out with friends, so I ask you...
Would you be my friend? Would you share your dreams and stories with I or would you hide in the shelter of emptiness and boredom?
Life's River of Friendship
Smiles of togetherness and the flowing of life,
Time trickles by without notice as we celebrate our lives,
New places shared by you and I,
How wonderful to be together as friends till we die,
The journey is magical as the laughter we've shared,
A bond without Vows, a bond without demands,
Friendship always cherished as memories are created,
Moments always kept,
Locked in our minds from fading,
Though the river splits and we go our separate ways,
The river that becomes small streams will come back together some day,
With phone calls and letters we will always stay in touch,
Because friendships awesome power is often
greater then most Loves.
