Years have gone by and images have become a blur,
Reading books almost impossible and for my eyes there is no cure,
My once colorful and bright world slowly dissolves into a moonless night,
People standing in front of me now shadows pierce my diminishiing plight,
My mind now becomes the true heart of my everyday ways,
My treasure trove of vivid pictures once hidden come out to play,
All my senses kick in gear and now I can hear you from far away,
And children playing down the street as I imagine their bright big smiles,
Then theres max my neighbors lab who helps me walk for miles,
Hummingbird bushes and honeysuckles blow within the breeze,
I never use to smell them, now I smell with ease,
My world has changed but still the same atleast from where I sit,
Now I take in life with all my sense absorbing every bit,
Almost blind , I see with my mind and blessed with every day,
I have the chance to touch your smile and hear the words you say...
