Frozen with Terror : Fear

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

I lay in bed exhausted from working the late shift,

My mind slowly empties of thought until all goes black,

So tired not even a dream interrupts my coma like sleep,

My body collapses as I count the last sheep,

Moulded into the old worn mattress my body fits like a glove,

Then a touch wakes me up and its not from a love,

In an old hotel room with windows and doors completely locked,

I feel the bed post lightly get knocked,

Frozen with fear I cant breathe and I cant move,

It touches me again and I sense certain doom,

Terror climbs into my mind and makes my skin crawl,

I lay there waiting for the end as the grim reaper comes to call,

Soon the touching ends and the fear subsides,

Slowly I move looking with eyes open wide,

My breathing almost normal and my heart slows back down,

My shock almost over as my feet touch the ground,

I search under the bed and check all of the doors,

Everythings locked but I keep looking some more,

In the bathroom and behind the curtain I peer,

Nothing at all, not one thing to fear,

I finally realize I wasnt alone,

An angel made contact but I froze like a stone.
