For some it is tradition for others it is freedom hidden,
Within these robes, this covering cloth, the prison that hides my flesh,
Is a woman with a free spirit hoping to soar and fly,
Rules of man, rules of religion, containment is my duty,
To hide my individuality, to hide my beauty, only my eyes show my despair,
I walk as a shadow hidden from the light, hidden from the site of man,
I am but one of many shadows wanting to break free,
To be seen, to be noticed, to be unveiled and to shine my smile on those who fill my heart with joy...
But I am just a woman, just a girl, not as important as the almighty man.....
