Cold Steel : Gangster

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

The Street,

Not the best place for my race,

Like a sore thumb I stick out and dont belong,

I see the eyes I feel them gaze,

Out of place I get a taste of reverse racism without haste,

They let me know I dont belong judged by my color and my rock N roll songs,

Beat up, beat down, kicked while I lay bleeding on the ground,

I yell for help but they all walk by as if I didnt make a sound,

My parents moved us to the hood after dad lost his job,

In fear I walk to school, 2nd time this week that Ive been robbed,

"Set me up", I need protection I asked a friend,

He pulled out cold hard steel which felt powerful in my hand,

Tucked in and hidden from site I walked like I was a man,

No longer would I take it, no longer would I cower,

I walk the streets whenever I please my curfew has no hour,

Dim lit alley way I stroll whith total control,

Cold steel got my back no matter who is on patrol,

From polo shirts to white Tee's I finally found my place,

A contrast that keeps me on my toes with fear never on my face,

Confronted at the courts, a challenge for my life,

I pulled the steel from my waste and made the bitch my wife,

The talk was out my number called and I was in their site,

One more day then Im blown away cause my skin is milky white...

Racism is not a white thing, its not a black thing, its hate and fear thing. It is a problem that can only be resolved by comming together as one. We are all children of God which makes us all brothers and sisters. The video below demonstrates why people of all colors should fear racism.
