Carwash : Poem on Abuse Writing by a Poet out of Dallas TX

Captured on tape she sprayed her little girl,
High pressure punishment to this polished little pearl,

Screams of pain from the cutting spray,
another day of punishment after another day of play,

What was in her mind and will God save her soul,
To punish without thought, to lose all self control,

For anger unleashed in rage upon a tender child from a mom,
with a world screaming out in vain to her that this behavior was wrong,

We all have had hard times and that of losing control,
but the extremes of her actions was too much of a toll,

Child abuse washed away with time,
We all will forget and think that life's just fine,

But sooner or later another story will unfold,
like a mom throwing her sons from a bridge in a world thats out of control.

	True! This was very moving to read as its so true. People with deep, dark issues having children who then develop deep, dark issues. If you dont face your own stuff you will pass it on or effect your family and kids with it. We see it everyday in society. Its very sickening and sad. A child has no concept of what an adult see's or feels in that sense. Protect the children, rehabilitate and teach the parents. 	Highly Topical and Observational Jeff, you managed well to display your anger and distaste for these actions withou being overtly punitive. All right thinking people know that these actions were wrong but none of us were privy to her thought processes at the time. The piece was well thought out and flowed well in most cases. There were a few lines that got wordy and interrupted the beat and movement of the piece. I shall be reading more as time permits.
