Angels In The ER : Adult Poetry

written by Poet : Jeff Pelsang

"

On deaths bed I lay there with my slow dimming light,

The doctors and nurses rush me to ER just collected from careflight,

The truck in the other lane had lost control, I veered to miss him but ran into a pole,

I remember a young woman saying youll be alright, she held my hand, her grip was loving and tight,

Tears were rolling down her cheek, I wanted to tell her I felt no pain but I was too weak,

I heard her say a prayer asking for god to lend a helping hand, when her prayer was finished angels hovered over me filling her prayer and her command,

They carressed my lifeless body and I was at ease, I saw a man pushing my chest and watched the angels leave,

Next thing I know I was off to the ER and only thing I could think of was"" Thank god the kids were not in the car"",

While I lay there and everyone around seemed to move in slow motion, I started had visions of my kids at play down by the ocean,

Flashbacks of wonderful times and memories I had collected, Then the angels came back to keep me protected,

I knew I had not had the faith that I need, they couldnt take me to heaven so they protected me from the demon that wanted to come and feed,

I prayed in my mind for a second chance, please let me live, Deep down inside im a wonderful son and have plenty to give,

With that prayer the dotor said hes back with a smile, I think hes gonna make it, your gonna be with us awhile.
