Off they go again, and they forgot to rub my head,
I cant wait for them to get back, I bet they'll rub it then,
I think I'll just lay here and wait,
I get so excited when I see their car pull in the drive, their so great,
I'm so thirsty but my bowl is empty, I remember when it use to be overflowing as food and water were plenty,
My stomachs making noises I think I'll eat, that dark trash bag is filled with the smells of wonderful treats,
"Woof" "Woof", a squirrel , a squirrel, I want to to play with you, why do you run up the tree thats something I cant do,
Later on that evening Old Belcher woke from his nap, he waited at the end of the drive but his family never came back,
For days he paced the yard, for days he grew hungry then ever, but he stayed and never left as he would have waited there forever,
3 weeks later he was found dead at the front of the drive, he didnt know his family abandoned him not caring if he were dead or alive,
They left him like he was not even the family pet, they went on with their lives with no regrets,
In the end the dog still loved and still needed, but it was the humans who lack the love, it is the humans who deserve the inhumane treatment..

All the dogs I have ever owned have been abandoned, left on the corner of the road in front of my house. Each of the dogs were wonderful, filled with love, and just needed some training and attention. If you own a dog please scratch him behind his ears, keep his food and water bowl full, and treat him like a family member because you are the center of their World and they love you.
