Loneliness
Cold was my soul, bound to Stygian mist,
Enfolded in the darkness of night.
This Cimmerian cave with its lurking crevice,
Is the place where I dwell out of sight.
In the shadows I hide, a dismal excuse,
A dark creature of nightmarish dreams,
A beast lurking here, an abysmal recluse,
Forgotten by He who redeems.
Why should I be afraid of the stigma of shame?
Neverending the torrents of spite.
`tween shivers of pain, overwhelming the blame,
The emotions my name does incite.
The futility of hope is a mockery due,
To a creature as lonely as I,
When I kneel down and pray, all the things that i rue,
I can feel all my hopes pass me by.
Be it mist, be it rain, be it summer or shine,
Be it angel or demon of night,
I am pure, I am true, I am yours, I am mine,
I am creature who roams out of sight.
