West VirginiaAlmost Heaven : Other Poetry

written by Poet : Robert1

The Shenendoah meets the Potomac, almost in a rage. Looking down from Jefferson's Rock. It looks as if it were a picture from a page.

It take's my breath, to look upon such a sight. To think how Thomas Jefferson felt when he looked down from this height.

To see the works from the hand of God, could only inspire, Men to work just as hard to over come. to fullfill their desires.

Then to travel to Black Water Falls. The pride of Tucker County. Who's hills are lush. Gardens green and full of bounty.

To gaze down after the climb up on Seneca Rocks.  To feel the power, no man could create. Only the work of God could have formed such a state.

To see her forest and her hills. Her valleys and her streams. You know you're in almost heaven. Put aside by God or so it seems.

To watch the eagles sore, high above the Trough. I think you'll understand. West Virginia blessed by God. Untouched by modern man.

If you are to visit us, we're sure to welcome you in. We know if you visit once. You'll want to come back again.
