The Reflection
Oh God, what am I doing here
Looking in this mirror
There is a face looking back at me
He seems confused, lonely and hurt
Seeking direction he cannot find
He's looking for help from his misery
Reaching out to hands that are not there
Looking into his eyes, I see his pain
Tears flowing down his cheeks
Dripping into the sink
His eyes are closed tight
And gritting his teeth in agony
I see nothing around to cause this pain
But it's there, it's in his mind
Slumping down, he's loosing hope
This pain is in control, he can't hold on
With a fearful grip he grabs at the mirror
As though to reach out for me
I push away his hand from mine
The more I push away, the more he holds on
He's pulling up close to me
His eyes now looking deep into the reflection
The reflection he sees is mine
Our mouths open in disbelief
As I realize that he is I
