Lover's Masquarade : Love Poetry

written by Poet : RedMarquee

Just and me again
You won’t identify it
You can’t conceive of it
Shell of former selves
Needed each others help
Now not as much if at all
You weren’t on call
As I played stepford wifey
yet tenderness accepted
I thought your were the
Sunrise and darkness had no place
In conjunction with you
Flavors came together well
And the smell…
The smell was appetizing
Candles lit in our eyes
Burning with the incense on high
It would esoterically rise
The scent of patchoullii
Pale cotton was admissible
All it took was one look
We both knew
Written in the scrolls
When and how did we get old
With nothing left to say
With me turning away
In frequency being afraid
Living suspect and in derision
Fathoming it could ever come to this
Wishing it was yesterday
Lightening was calmed with a kiss
Strawberry prelude to breakfast
Making it up as we go
But destiny turned cold too soon
Reciting the lines as we choose
To continue to stay together
Without eyebrows raising
Behind the lies of this lover’s masquerade
